In our mission to help farmers SEN-FFI, we are working on several initiatives through the SEN-NOV a 9-step process. Stand alone interventions however well-intentioned do not have the impact of a well coordinated initiative under good management. With an increasing level of social responsibility from individuals, institutions and corporates, this fills out a vacant area in our society and economy.

The social sector is ideal for this intervention as the financial benefits are not direct nor evident. SEN proposes to cover the following areas in increasing depth (in implementation) and growing spread (in awareness) to help the farmer.

India is still primarily agrarian with nearly 70% of its resident population engaged in agriculture.

Overcoming Technophobia Learn technology easily. Access to information on weather, seeds, quality (soil, water), improves productivity manifold. Learn from best practices.
Learn while saving money – A winner for any farmer.
Drip Irrigation Deserts have bloomed, while India is still dry inspite of monsoons. Utilize available water judiciously. Avail upto 100% govt subsidy.
Get more produce without investing from your own pocket appeals to every farmer.
Insurance Crop losses are now no longer devastating. You can cover yourself for a small premium. Learn how and do it.
Assurance of income, inspite of vagaries of nature is a heaven sent to every farmer.
Income from waste You grow your crops, encash about 5% and the rest goes waste. Now earn from this waste. Reduce dependency on imported gas.
Getting paid for waste is a dream come true for any farmer.
Farm bank Your kids have moved on with high paying jobs, but your heart is still in your village and the produce that could be. Join in our Farm banking initiative as a land owner or an interested worker.
Strengthen your land, create employment and earn while spending time with your grandchildren with full peace of mind.
Better Prices Getting a higher price for your produce with door step service. Supply chain crunching and linking with buyers cooperatives.
Getting more than the govt reserved price is a possibility within reach of farmers now – an exciting prospect.
Access to knowledge bank Knowledge from the experts in the context of your land, your soil and your crops. Access anytime, anywhere.
Knowing what not to do and how to do things better is a question every farmer would be glad to have answers to.

At the time of Independence, India had a population of nearly 36 crores and could not feed itself. As a net food importer, precious foreign currency was spent on ensuring that we had enough food. However, the situation in 2015 with over 128 crores, India is mostly self-sufficient and a net exporter in certain segments. This is inspite of low productive farming practices, due largely to the lack of support provided to farmers.

The change has been slow but sure. Today, we stand with a growing population – now called the demographic dividend, a young and energetic nation. It is the hope of the SEN-FFI to channel some of this energy, knowledge and drive into helping farmers. We define our success, when there is not even one farmer left unaddressed.

This need not be a social unprofitable action. SEN hopes to attract corporates, governments, investors, students, academecia, banks, and social groups to work collaboratively in helping our farmers create value.

Mere desh ki dharti sona ugale, ugale heere moti – truly our soil grows gold, diamonds and pearls, lets DO IT.

It does not require a national movement, it does not require great effort, it just requires you to say YES.
